The zinc powder replacement process is to mix the zinc powder with the gold containing solution, precipitate the gold after being replaced by zinc, and then filter. The gold powder and excess zinc powder enter the filter cake (i.e. cyaniding gold mud) and are separated from the liquid after gold removal. The basic principle is the same as that of zinc wire replacement method. Because the surface area per unit weight of zinc powder is much larger than that of zinc wire, the efficiency of zinc powder replacement method is much greater than that of zinc wire replacement method.

Process Flow
- The zinc powder replacement process is composed of three operations: precious liquor purification, deoxidation and zinc powder press filter replacement.
- The spiral feeding is uniform and continuous, which solves the difficulty in adjusting the amount of zinc powder added by traditional machinery and the problem of uneven addition, reduces the content of residual zinc, reduces production costs and improves smelting effects;
- The area of zinc powder exposed to the air is small, which reduces the oxidation of zinc powder during use and improves the replacement effect.
Factors Affect the Replacement of Zinc Powder
The concentration of cyanide and alkali, the concentration of oxygen, the role of lead salt, the temperature and impurities in the solution, and the cleanliness of the precious solution (leaching solution).

Purification of precious liquid is the process of removing suspended solids. - Deoxygenation
Principle: The oxygen dissolved in the precious liquid has an obstructive effect on the replacement of gold by zinc, and the oxygen in the precious liquid is removed to ensure the smooth progress of the zinc replacement of gold. - Replacement filter
Principle: It includes two operations of zinc powder addition and replacement. When zinc powder is added to the precious liquid, the replacement reaction starts, and the replacement equipment completes the final replacement and the filtration of the gold mud.
